Department review of comprehensive county emergency medical system plans

The department, in consultation with the state emergency medical services council, the regional emergency medical services councils, or any other group the department deems necessary, may make available a model comprehensive county emergency medical system plan format to help provide guidance to counties to consider when developing their comprehensive county emergency medical system plan required pursuant to General Municipal Law § 122-B (General ambulance services)section one hundred twenty-two-b of the general municipal law. Such model plan shall be made publicly available on the department’s website and outline the components of the plan that the department deems most effective to facilitate their timely review and meaningful feedback on each county’s plan.

Upon receipt of a county’s comprehensive county emergency medical system plan submitted to the department pursuant to General Municipal Law § 122-B (General ambulance services)section one hundred twenty-two-b of the general municipal law, the department shall review such plan and provide written feedback and any recommendations, within sixty days of such plan’s submission, for review by the county. * NB Effective June 19, 2026
