N.Y. Public Health Law Section 1355
Food service safety and sanitation training


1.

The commissioner shall promulgate rules and regulations (a) establishing food service safety and sanitation training programs and providing standards therefor or (b) providing for the approval of such programs to be administered by local health officials or private parties in accordance with such rules and regulations.

2.

Such regulations shall include a provision permitting private citizens working in establishments subject to the jurisdiction of the commissioner pursuant to this title to attend such training program.
