N.Y. Public Authorities Law Section 1599-G*4
Construction and purchase contracts


The authority shall let contracts for construction in the same manner as is provided by law for contracts of the city, except that where the estimated expense of a contract does not exceed five thousand dollars, such contracts may be entered into without public letting. Nothing in this section shall be construed to limit the power of the authority to do any construction directly by the officers, agents and employees of the authority. Contracts for the purchase of supplies, material and equipment shall be let in the same manner as is provided in this section. If the authority shall deem it in the public interest or necessary or desirable to effectuate the purposes of this chapter or the economy and efficiency in construction and operation of a project, the authority by majority vote of its members may either reject all bids or readvertise for bids or by two-thirds vote of its members may accept a bid other than the lowest bid; provided however that the reasons for any such vote shall be stated in the authority’s official minutes. * NB Authority ceased to exist 08/05/2002 * NB There are 4 § 1599-g’s
