N.Y. Retirement & Social Security Law Section 214
Continuation of employment privilege of certain retired persons


Notwithstanding any provision of this article, a retired person employed prior to July first, nineteen hundred sixty-four, under the provisions of subdivision f of Retirement & Social Security Law § 101 (Reduction or suspension of benefits)section one hundred one of the retirement and social security law, or subdivision two of Civil Service Law § 150 (Suspension of pension and annuity during public employment)section one hundred fifty of the civil service law, or Civil Service Law § 151 (Leaves of absence for participation in certain athletic competitions)section one hundred fifty-one of the civil service law, or section 9.13 of the mental hygiene law, or section five hundred eleven-b of the education law, or section B20-48.1 of the administrative code of the city of New York, may be similarly employed during the effective period of this article subject to the same conditions and limitations as were applicable to his employment under the respective provisions under which he was employed prior to July first, nineteen hundred sixty-four.
