N.Y. Banking Law Section 334
Leases to minors

A lessor may let a safe deposit box to a minor with the same effect as if such lessee were of full age and with the same effect may allow access to such safe deposit box and to the contents thereof to such lessee or to any deputy or agent appointed in writing by such lessee.
