N.Y. Personal Property Law Section 47-C
Refiling


The filing of assignments shall be valid for a period of two years only. The validity of the filing may in each case be extended for successive additional periods of one year from the date of refiling by filing in the office of the county clerk of the county in which the original assignment or duly authenticated copy thereof was filed a true copy of the original assignment within thirty days next preceding the expiration of each period, with a statement attached signed and verified by or on behalf of the assignee, setting forth that the assignment is in force and stating the amount remaining unpaid. Such copy, with statement attached, shall be filed and entered in the same manner as an assignment or copy thereof filed and entered for the first time, and the filing officer shall be entitled to a like fee as upon the original filing.
