N.Y. Navigation Law Section 140-A
Offenses against the navigation law


Any person having the charge, command or control of a vessel who:

1.

Carries or permits a vessel to carry a greater number of passengers than is stated in the certificate of inspection of such vessel issued under § 63 (Certificate of inspection)section sixty-three of this chapter; or

2.

Neglects to carry on a vessel the equipment required by § 67 (Public vessel equipment)section sixty-seven of this chapter; or

3.

Neglects to carry on a vessel the fire pump required by § 56 (Fire pump)section fifty-six of this chapter; or

4.

Violates any other provision of this chapter; or for which no other punishment is prescribed, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
