N.Y. Indian Law Section 152
Qualifications for office

All officers shall qualify for office and perform their respective duties in accordance with the tribal rules, customs and regulations of the Poospatuck Indian nation and, in addition, shall have been actually residing on the reservation for six months immediately preceding election.
