N.Y. Education Law Section 4701
Establishment of farm schools


The board of supervisors or other governing elective body of any county outside of the city of New York may adopt a resolution by a majority vote of the members of such board or body establishing a farm school for the purpose of giving instruction in the trades and in industrial, agricultural and homemaking subjects to children of the county not more than eighteen nor less than eight years of age who may be admitted thereto as provided by law.
