N.Y. Alternative County Government Law Section 153
Qualifications

A person holding the office of county executive shall have the qualifications prescribed by Public Officers Law § 3 (Qualifications for holding office)section three of the public officers law, except as otherwise provided in § 51 (County manager form)section fifty-one of this chapter.
