N.Y. Transportation Law Section 210
Application of this article

The term “motor truck” as used in this article shall be deemed to mean and include any commercial motor vehicle held and used for the transportation of goods, wares and merchandise for hire or for a business purpose, pursuant to the rules and regulations of the commissioner. The term “motor bus” as used in this article shall be deemed to mean and include any commercial motor vehicle held and used for the transportation of passengers for hire or for a business purpose, pursuant to the rules and regulations of the commissioner.
