Federal aid

  • allotments to municipalities and local health districts

1.

Notwithstanding the provisions of any general, special or local law, the governing body of any municipal corporation or of any health district by a majority vote may authorize the proper officials of such municipal corporation or local health district to accept grants or allotments made to such municipal corporation or health district by the commissioner for the purpose of extending or improving within such municipal corporation or local health district the maternal and child health services, the care and treatment of children with physical disabilities, and other public health work.

The commissioner is authorized and empowered to prescribe the terms and conditions, not inconsistent with law, which must be fulfilled, and the standards of service which must be met by the authorities of any municipal corporation or health district in order to receive such allotment of federal-aid moneys.
