N.Y. Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Law Section 7.11
Powers and duties of commissions


Each regional park, recreation and historic preservation commission shall:

1.

Act as a central advisory agency on all matters affecting parks, outdoor recreation and historic preservation within the park region it serves.

2.

Represent and convey to the commissioner and council citizen viewpoints as to the programs and needs of the park region it serves.

3.

Maintain close liaison with officials of the office having administrative jurisdiction over the park region which it serves, and advise such officials on local policy, operational and budgetary matters.
