N.Y. Education Law Section 6006
Property to belong to state


All lands purchased and other property acquired with money appropriated by the state for such college shall be and remain the property of the state. If real property is purchased, the title thereto shall be conveyed to the people of the state of New York and the sufficiency of such title and the form of conveyance shall be approved by the attorney-general.
