N.Y. Vehicle & Traffic Law Section 499
Definition

For the purposes of this article “metropolitan commuter transportation district” shall mean the area of the state included in the district created and governed by Public Authorities Law § 1262 (Metropolitan commuter transportation district)section twelve hundred sixty-two of the public authorities law.
