Sec. § 43.01
Legislative Findings and Intent

* § 43.01 Legislative findings and intent. It is the intent of the legislature to establish the Niagara Falls underground railroad heritage commission to work with participating state and municipal agencies, organizations and residents in order to implement or cause to be implemented the conservation and enhancement of the historic, cultural, economic and architectural resources of Niagara Falls. Furthermore, it is the intent of the legislature that the heritage area be developed to function as a destination for both academic research and tourism. The commission established by this article is intended to ensure and promote the accessibility to the resources in Niagara Falls to a broad range of academic and tourism interests. It is the intent of the legislature that the area be marketed to niche market travelers and scholars, and that economic development within its boundaries is consistent with this legislative intent, and the mission developed by the commission. * NB Repealed December 31, 2015
